John 13:15, "For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done."
In this setting, Christ has just washed the feet of his disciples, modeling for them the behavior He expected of His followers. Becoming a servant, showing hospitality, unconditionally loving the masses He encountered every day, as the ways Christ showed us how to be in community. Historically, the Metro Board, the Mission Arm of the Fort Worth Area Districts, has attempted to be the United Methodist voice on our city streets. Using the example of Christ as the foundation for its programs, structures and dreams, the Metro Board has served with integrity the people of our districts.
Matt. 25:40, "Just as you did it to the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me."
On the Sundays between Epiphany (January 6) and the First Sunday of Lent, the focus of attention is on the missional nature and global concern of the Christian church. Green is the liturgical color for Epiphany.
